How It Works
A vertical sump pump operates by drawing in wastewater or charged water and expelling it to a higher discharge point. Many models are equipped with a float switch that detects the rising water level and automatically triggers the pump to start. Once the water is pumped out and the water level drops, the float descends, which then automatically shuts off the pump.
